Stochastic approaches utilize randomly varying fields described by probabilistic distributions to incorporate the effects of small-scale heterogeneity. Stochastic approaches recognize the impossibility of fully and precisely describing the spatial characterization of hydraulic parameters and enables the quantification of uncertainty that is not available in a deterministic approach. Provided are some examples of randomly field representation.
