Animation Basic Features
This interface is used to control basic display for Web Mapservice with Time (WMST) data layers as timeseries animations. WMST data layers are either provided with a list of available times, or have a defined data source interval. The interface will be slightly different depending on the WMST data layer formatList of available times
For WMST layers that have a list of available times:Refresh Times: click this button to fetch the most recent available times from the data publisher (as a get capabilities request). This is important for actively updated WMST layers like weather.
From and To These options will each have a dropdown containing the timestamps for all temporal points in the data layer timeseries. Choose a start (From) and end (To) entry to define the beginning and end of the animation loop.
Refresh Rate This is the frame rate, or time between requests to update the display. Set to a smaller number to view more as a movie, or a larger number to inspect each image more closely.
Play/Pause clicking this icon with start and pause the animation.
Refresh clicking this icon will reset the interface inputs.
Displayed date and time in the bottom left you will see the date and time of the current image displayed.
Data source interval
For WMST layers that have a defined data source interval:Refresh Times: click this button to fetch the most recent available times from the data publisher (as a get capabilities request). This is important for actively updated WMST layers like weather.
From and To These displays will indicate the time window for the layer timeseries.
Data Source Interval This is the time interval for available data (e.g., 'PT24H' indicates that daily data [every 24 hours] is available).
Start Date/Time indicates the timestamp for the initial image to be displayed in the animation loop.
Request Interval This is the interval of the requested data. This interval should be a multiple of the 'Data Source Interval'.
Refresh Rate This is the frame rate, or time between requests to update the display. Set to a smaller number to view more as a movie, or a larger number to inspect each image more closely.
Play/Pause clicking this icon with start and pause the animation.
Refresh clicking this icon will reset the interface inputs.
