Service Collection

This interface is an "Admin Only" tool used to add web services to the DataNET database.

Adding a webservice, or set of webservices:

This interface can be used to add data layers and associated metadata to the database
1) Choose a webservice type
2) Choose the flask task that will be used to retrieve layer properties. getLayersFromUrl or getLayersFromXML .
3) Enter primary (and if needed secondary) webservice URL(s)
4) Click 'Get Layer Data' to populate the interface with a set of layers.
5) Inspect layers by adding them to the map display
6) Open the Data Layer Library (Menu Toolbar > Data Layers > Search Library) and select one or more regions
7) Drag Layers from the Service Collection interface into categories on the right
8) Click "Add to DB" button to add layers to the database.

Editing Major Environmental Categories:

This interface can also be used to modify the major categories:
1) use the Update MC button and interface to modify the names or sort order of existing major categories
2) use the Add MC button and interface to create new major categories
3) use the Delete MC button and interface to delete existing major categories

Editing Minor Data Categories:

This interface can also be used to modify data categories:
1) use the "New Category"/"Add Cat." input and button to add a Data Category to the database
2) use the Pencil Icon button on the right panel modify the names or major category of a Data Category
3) use the Trash Can Icon button to delete a Data Category
