Land Use and Cover Parameters

Workflow context
For the workflow context, see 📘 Watershed Coupling (SwaNET/SWAT)

What is it?

Land use and cover are key components to how water flows overland. For example more urban "developed" environments tend to have low permeability and storage, and fast overland flow (low Manning's roughness), while more natural "forest" or "wetland" environments tend towards higher permeabilities and storage, with slower flows (low Manning's roughness).

How to use it:

To specify landuse for overland flow in the current model zone check the box next to "Land Use and Cover" and set the parameter values. Land use and cover parameters can be assigned to constant values, or using a lookup table, they can be derived from a raster dataset (either from the MAGNET4WATER server, or loaded by a user). If a raster from the Data Center is used (this is the default), click "Lookup Table" to open the landuse and cover lookup table. By default lookup values are pulled from the USGS landuse land cover dataset (2006) .

Click another tab to add/edit additional parameters or click "OK" to save changes and close editing window.
