Root Zone Parameters

Workflow context
For the workflow context, see 📘 Watershed Coupling (SwaNET/SWAT)

What is it?

The bottom of the root zone is the estimated maximum depth below ground surface affected by evapotranspiration. Net infiltration below the bottom of the root zone is approximately equal to net aquifer recharge.

USGS (2008).

How to use it:

To specify the root depth for overland flow in the current model zone check the box next to "Root Zone Depth" and set the parameter values. Root zone depth can be set to a constant within the conceptual zonal extent, or set to a raster specifying a spatially varying root zone depth (either from the data center, or user imported file). Note that user imported rasters must be in units of meters (below ground surface).
