Streams, rivers, and lakes are available on the MAGNET4WATER Data Center globally:
- inside the United States: hydrography from the US Geological Survey NHSPlus Dataset (NHD=National Hydrography Dataset).
- outside the United States: hydrography from HydroSHEDS database
Stream and lake features can be directly imported to the model as different types of boundary conditions (e.g., one-way or two-way head-dependent flux, prescribed head, etc.).
To import streams and/or lakes located within your model domain, check the box next to 'Streams from Data Center' and/or 'Lakes from Data Center'. Once the box is checked, a 'More Options' button will appear. Click it to define the attributes of the imported surface water bodies.
