The DEM Configuration Editor is used to define the model area and display a digital elevation model (DEM) and other information from the MAGNET4WATER data server on the map. Unless the user chooses to generate additional derived parameters, DEM, Soil type, Soil Grid Type, and Landuse are displayed.
Before drawing a box over the model domain set the following:
| Field | Description |
| Grid Size | Input integers for the output data resolution for the resulting DEM image in the horizontal "NX" and vertical "NY" directions (10-100). |
| Contour Range | Input elevation values ("Min" and "Max") over which to contour DEM data (leave blank to use elevation data bounds). |
| DEM Resolution | Select the input resolution for the DEM. A smaller number means higher resolution. If high resolution DEM data is selected and not available in the model area, 90m resolution data will be substituted. If "Auto" is selected, the DEM resolution will automatically be set based on the Grid Size specified above. Note, soil data uses 90 m resolution, and landuse and soil grid data use 30m resolutions. |
| COLOR MAP | Select a to use when displaying the DEM results. (default "jet"). |
| Contour Count | Enter the number of elevation contour lines used to generate DEM map (including min and max values; set greater or equal than 2; default 11). |
| Unit Multiplier | Set unit conversion for converting elevation units from meters. Default, 3.28084, gives output elevation in feet. |
| Derived parameters | Check this box to generate plots for parameters derived from soil and landuse. Derived parameters may include the following: runoff curves, mannings values, hydraulic conductivity, moisture content, root depths, bulk density, water capacity, and more. |
| 3D Plot Model OFFSET (ft) | DEM offset when overlaying the DEM(default: 0) |
| 3D Image Overlay Color | Colorramp for overlaying soil layer(defalt: rainbow) |
| Z Scale | Z aspect ratio of the plot (default: 1) |
