What is it?

This interface allows users to update/enter reservoir inputs. Please note that reservoirs need to be added to the subbasins while writing SWAT input files.

How to use it:

For the detailed description of the reservoir inputs, please refer to the SWAT Theoretical Documentation and SWAT Input/Output Documentation.

Under 'Select reservoir subbasin', select the subbasin number for editing reservoir inputs.
Edit the inputs as needed:

Reservoir characteristics

MORES: Month the reservoir became operational.
IYRES: Year the reservoir became operational.
RES_ESA: Reservoir surface area when the reservoir is filled to the emergency spillway (ha).
RES_EVOL: VOlume of water needed to fill the reservoir to the emergency spillway (104m3).
RES_PSA: Reservoir surface area when the reservoir is filled to the principal spillway (ha).
RES_PVOL: VOlume of water needed to fill the reservoir to the principal spillway (104m3).
RES_VOL: Initial reservoir volume (104m3).
RES_SED: Initial sediment concentration in the reservoir (mg/L).
RES_NSED: Equilibrium sediment concentration in the reservoir (mg/L).
RES_D50: Median particle diameter of sediment(μm).
RES_K: Hydraulic conductivity of the reservoir bottom (mm/hr).
EVRSV: Lake evaporation coefficient.

Reservoir management

IRESCO: Outflow simulation type.
RES_RR: Average daily principal spillway release rate (m3/S).
IFLOD1R: Beginning month of non-flood season.
IFLOD2R: Ending month of non-flood season.
NDTARGR: Number of days to reach target storage from current reservoir storage.
WURTNF: Fraction of water removed from the reserboir via WURESN that is returned and becomes flow out of reservoir (m3/m3).
OFLOWMN_FPS: Minimum reservoir outflow as a fraction of the principal spillway volume.
STARG_FPS: Target volume as a fraction of the principal spillway volume.
RESMONO Table:Monthly reservoir outflow file. Please upload a comma separated csv file. Refer to SWAT Input/Output Documentation for input parameters.
RESDAYO Table: Daily reservoir outflow file. Please upload a comma separated csv file. Refer to SWAT Input/Output Documentation for input parameters.

Monthly data

Select Monthly parameter from the list. Available monthly parameters are maximum monthly outflow, minimum monthly outflow, monthly target storage, monthly consumptive use. For the select parameter, enter values for each month.

Lake water quality

IRES1: Beginning month of mid-year nutrient settling period.
IRES2: Ending month of mid-year nutrient settling period.
PSETLR1: Phosphorus settling rate in reservoir for months IRES1 through IRES2 (m/year).
PSETLR2: Phosphorus settling rate in reservoir for months other than IRES1 through IRES2 (m/year).
NSETLR1: Nitrogen settling rate in reservoir for months IRES1 through IRES2 (m/year).
NSETLR2: Nitrogen settling rate in reservoir for months other than IRES1 through IRES2 (m/year).
CHLAR: Chlorophyll-a production coefficient for reservoir.
SECCIR: Water clarity coefficient for the reservoir.
RES_ORGP: Initial concentration of organic P in reservoir (mg P/L).
RES_SOLP: Initial concentration of soluble P in reservoir (mg P/L).
RES_ORGN: Initial concentration of organic N in reservoir (mg N/L).
RES_NO3: Initial concentration of soluble NO3-N in reservoir (mg N/L).
RES_NH3: Initial concentration of soluble NH3-N in reservoir (mg N/L).
RES_NO2: Initial concentration of soluble NO2-N in reservoir (mg N/L).
LKPST_CONC: Initial pesticide concentration in the reservoir water for the pesticide defined by routing pesticide in Basin Data(mg/m2).
LKPST_REA: Reaction coefficient of the pesticide in reservoir water (day-1).
LKPST_VOL: Volatilization coefficient of the pesticide from the reservoir (m/day).
LKPST_KOC: Pesticide partition coefficient between water and sediment (m3/g).
LKPST_STL: Settling velocity of pesticide sorbed to sediment (m/day).
LKPST_RSP: Resuspension vesolicy of pesticide sorbed to sediments (m/day).
LKPST_MIX: Pesticide diffusion or mixing velocity (m/day).
LKSPST_CONC: Initial pesticide concentration in the reservoir bottom sediments (mg/m3).
LKSPST_REA: Reaction coefficient of the pesticide in reservoir bottom sediments (day-1).
LKSPST_BRY: Burial velocity of pesticide in reservoir sediments (m/day).
LKSPST_ACT: Depth of active sediment layer in reservoir (m).

After making the changes, click 'Save Edits' and close the interface.
Don't forget to click 'Save Edits' butoon on the 'mgnSWAT Edit SWAT Data' interface.
