Edit Low Impact Development Data

What is it?

This interface allows users to update low impact development (LID) parameters (.lid files). Available LIDs for urban land uses are green roof, rain garden, cistern, and porous pavement.

How to use it:

Subbasin number of the subbasin currently being edited is displayed on the top.
Edit LID

Edit LID data

All the urban land uses in current subbasin are listed on the left under 'URBNAME'. Urban landuses are:
URHD: Residential-High Density.
URMD: Residential-Medium Density.
URML: Residential-Med/Low Density.
URLD: Residential-Low Density.
UCOM: Commercial.
UIDU: Industrial.
UTRN: Transportation.
UINS: Institutional.
URBN: Residential.
Click on any urban land uses to edit.

Edit green roof data

GR_IYR: Year when the green roof became operational (e.g. 1980).
GR_FAREA: Fraction of impervious areas where green roofs are installed.
GR_SOLOP: Amended soil characteristics, 0=Characteristics (FC, WP, and Ksat) of the amended soil are identical to those of the native HRU soil, 1=read user input.
GR_ETCOEF: Evapotranspiration coefficient.
GR_FC: Field capacity of the amended soil (mm/mm).
GR_WP: Wilting point of the amended soil (mm/mm).
GR_KSAT: Saturated hydraulic conductivity of the amended soil layer (mm/hr).
GR_POR: Porosity of the amended soil layer (mm/mm).
GR_HYDEFF: Hydraulic efficiency factor (considering clogging up and anisotropy ratio) (0-1).
GR_SOLDPT: Depth of the amended soil (m).

Edit rain garden data

Click 'Rain garden' tab on the top. Its current values for the subbasin are loaded.
Parameter description:

RG_IYR: Year when the rain garden became operational (e.g. 1980).
RG_FAREA: Fraction of impervious areas where rain gardens are installed.
RG_SOLOP: Amended soil characteristics, 0=Characteristics (FC, WP, and Ksat) of the amended soil are identical to those of the native HRU soil, 1=read user input.
RG_ETCOEF: Evapotranspiration coefficient.
RG_FC: Field capacity of the amended soil (mm/mm).
RG_WP: Wilting point of the amended soil (mm/mm).
RG_KSAT: Saturated hydraulic conductivity of the amended soil layer (mm/hr).

RG_HYDEFF: Hydraulic efficiency factor (considering clogging up and anisotropy ratio) (0-1).
RG_SOLDPT: Depth of the amended soil (m).
RG_DIMOP: Options for determining the size of the surface storage of the rain garden: 0=the storage dimension is determined based on volume requirement estimated from the drainage areas of the rain garden, assuming the storage depth of 0.1 m, 1=read user input.
RG_SAREA: Fractional area of the rain garden storage surface to the impervious area of an urban HRU (0-1).
RG_VOL: Runoff volume required to fill the pool (storage of the rain garden on the soil surface), m3, (not used yet).
RG_STH: Depth of the rain garden storage (m).
RG_SDIA: Diameter of the surface area of the rain garden (m; frustum of a circular cone).

RG_ORIFICE: 0=the orifice drainage is inactive (no simulation), 1=active.
RG_OHEIGHT: Height of the orifice from the bottom of the storage (m).
RG_ODIA: Diameter of the orifice pipe (m).

Edit cistern data

Click 'Cistern' tab on the top. Its current values for the subbasin are loaded.
Parameter description:
CS_ONOFF: Activation status, 0=the cistern is inactive (no simulation), 1=active.
CS_IMO: Month when the cistern became operational (1-12).
CS_IYR: Year when the cistern became operational (e.g. 1980).
CS_FAREA: Fraction of impervious areas draining water to the cistern.
CS_GRCON: 0=the cistern is not connected to the corresponding green roof located in the same HRU, 1=the cistern is connected to the corresponding green roof located in the same HRU.
CS_VOL: Runoff volume to fill the cistern (storage of the cistern), m3; If CS_VOL is zero, SWAT calculates the cistern capacity with CS_RDEPTH.
