Edit Management Data
What is it?
This interface allows users to modify HRU level general management and management operation data.How to use it:
Subbasin number, land use, soil, slope and HRU number of the HRU currently being edited are displayed on the top.
Initial plant growth
Parameter description:Initial land cover: Select inital land cover type.
LAI_INIT: Initial leaf are index (If initial land cover is not none) (0 to 8).
BIO_INIT: Initial biomass (If initial land cover is not none) (kg/ha) (0 to 1000).
PHU_PLT: Number of heat units to bring plant to maturity (If initial land cover is not none) (0 to 3500).
General management
Parameter description:BIOMIX: Biological mixing efficiency (0 to 1).
CN2: Initial SCS CN II value (35 to 98).
USLE_P: USLE support practice factor (0 to 1).
BIO_MIN: Minimum biomass for grazing (kg/ha) (0 to 5000).
FILTERW: width of edge of field filter strip (m) (0 to 100).
Urban management
Parameter description:Urban land cover: Select from the list.
Urban simulation method: Select from the list.
Irrigation management
Parameter description:Irrigation source: select irrigation source.
Sub/reach/reservoir ID: If the source is reach, shallow aquifer or deep aquifer in the watershed, select the subbasin number where the source is located. If the source is reservoir, select reservoir id.
FLOWMIN: Minimum in-stream flow for irrigation diversions (m3/s) (0 to 100).
DIVMAX: Maximum irrigation diversion from reach (mm) (-150 to 150).
FLOWFR: : fraction of flow allowed to be pulled for irrigation (0 to 1).
Tile drain management
Parameter description:DDRAIN: Depth to subsurface tile drain (mm) (0 to 200).
TDRAIN: Time to drain soil to field capacity (hr) (0 to 72).
GDRAIN: Drain tile lag time (hr) (0 to 100).
Operations management
Click on 'Operations' tab on top. Current operations for the HRU are listed.To remove an operation click Op.ID (operation ID), and click 'Delete operation'.
To add a new operation, Click 'Add operation', select an operation from the list and click 'OK'. Select operation number (OP_NUM), enter heat unit, and click 'Save'. Current operations are for year 1 only. To start operation for year 2, click 'Add operation', select 'Skip to beginning of year', and follow the previous steps.
To edit an operation click Op. ID (operation ID), and click 'Edit operation'.
Parameter description:
Heat unit scheduling: Heat unit scheduling (0 to 1.5).
Planting/Beginning of growing season.
Heat unit to maturity: Total heat units for cover/plant to reach maturity (0 to 6000).
PLANT_ID: Select plat type from the list.
CURYR_MAT: Current age of trees (years).
LAI_INIT: Initial leaf area index (0 to 8).
BIO_INIT: Initial dry weight of biomass (kg/ha) (0 to 200).
HI_TARG: Harvest index target ((kg/ha)/(kg/ha)) (0 to 1).
BIO_TARG: Target dry weight of biomass (metric tons/ha) (0 to 200).
CNOP: SCS curve number for soil moisture condition II (0 to 95).
Irrigation operation.
IRR_AMT: Depth of irrigation water applied on HRU(mm) (0 to 100).
IRR_SALT: Concentration of salt in irrigation (mg/kg).
IRR_EFM: Irrigation efficiency (0 to 1).
IRR_SQ: Surface runoff ratio (0 to 1).
IRR_SC: Irrigation code; 0: no irrigation, 1: divert water from reach, 2: divert water from reservoir, 3: divert water from shallow aquifer, 4: divert water from deep aquifer, 5: divert waster from unlimited source outside watershed.
IRR_NO: Irrigation source location, subbasin ID or reservoir ID.
Fertilizer application.
FERT_ID: Fertilizer type.
FRT_KG: Amount of fertilizer applied on the HRU (kg/ha)(0 to 500).
FRT_SURFACE: Fraction of fertilizer applied to to 10mm of soil (0 to 1).
Pesticide application.
PEST_ID: Pesticide type.
PST_KG: Amount of pesticide applied on the HRU (kg/ha)(0 to 200).
PST_DEP: Depth of pesticide incorporation in the soil (mm) (0 to 500).
Harvest and kill.
CNOP: SCS curve number for soil moisture condition II (0 to 95).
Tillage.
TILL_ID: Select the type of tillage
CNOP: SCS curve number for soil moisture condition II (0 to 95).
Harvest only.
HARVEFF: Harvest efficiency (0 to 1).
HI_OVR: Harvest index override ((kg/ha)/(kg/ha)).
IHV_GBM: Grain or biomass harvest code; 0: biomass harvest, 1: grain harvest.
Kill/end of growing season.
Grazing operation.
MANURE_ID: Select manure type.
GRZ_DAYS: Number of consecutive days grazing takes place in the HRU (days) (0 to 366).
BIO_EAT: Dry weight of biomass consumed daily ((kg/ha)/day) (0 to 500).
BIO_TRMP: Dry weight of biomass trampled daily ((kg/ha)/day) (0 to 500).
MANURE_KG: Dry weight of manure deposited daily ((kg/ha)/day) (0 to 500).
Auto irrigation initialization.
WSTRS_ID: Water stress identifier that triggers auto irrigation, can be either plant water demand or soil water demand.
AUTO_WSTRS: Water stress threshold that triggers irrigation (0 to 1).
IRR_EFF: Irrigation efficiency (0 to 1).
IRR_MX: Amount of water applied each time auto irrigation is triggered (mm) (0 to 100).
IRR_ASQ: Surface runoff ratio (0 to 1).
IRR_SCA: Auto irrigation source code; 0: no irrigation, 1: divert water from reach, 2: divert water from reservoir, 3: divert water from shallow aquifer, 4: divert water from deep aquifer, 5: divert waster from unlimited source outside watershed.
IRR_NOA: Auto irrigation source location, subbasin ID or reservoir ID.
Auto fertilization.
AFERT_ID: Type of fertilizer applied.
AUTO_NSTRS: Nitrogen stress factor of cover/plant that triggers fertilization (0 to 3000).
AUTO_NAPP: Maximum amount of mineral nitrogen allowed in any one application (kg N/ha) (0 to 100).
AUTO_NYR: Maximum amount of mineral nitrogen allowed in any one year (kg N/ha) (0 to 100).
AUTO_EFF: Application efficiency (0 to 2).
AFRT_SURFACE: Fraction of fertilizer applied to to 10mm of soil (0 to 1).
Street sweeping.
SWEEPEFF: Removal efficiency of sweeping operation (0 to 1).
FR_CURB: Fraction of curb length available for sweeping (0 to 1).
Release/impound.
IMP_TRIG: Release/impound action.
Continuous fertilization.
CERT_ID: Type of fertilizer applied.
FERT_DAYS: Duration or length of period the continuous fertilizer operation takes place in the HRU (days) (0 to 365).
IFRT_FREQ: Application frequency (days) (0 to 60).
CFRT_KG: Amount of fertilizer/manure applied to ground in each application (kg/ha) (0 to 200).
Continuous pesticide application.
CPST_ID: Pesticide type.
PEST_DAYS: Number of days continuous pesticide application takes place in the HRU (days) (0 to 365).
IPEST_FREQ: Number of days between applications (days) (0 to 60).
CPST_KG: Amount of pesticide applied to HRU on a given day (kg/ha) (0 to 200).
Burn operation.
BURN_FRLB: Fraction of the biomass and residue that is burned (0 to 1).
Skip to beginning of year.
Use this operation to start a new year.
Applying the changes
Under 'Extend parameter edits', check 'Extend ALL MGT parameters' to apply all the current management parameters. Under 'Extend parameter edits', check 'Extend ALL MGT parameters' to apply all the current management operation parameters. To only apply the parameters that have been updated, leave it unchecked.To apply the changes to current HRU only, check 'Extend edits to current HRU'.
To apply the changes to all HRUs, check 'Extend edits to ALL HRUs'.
To apply the changes to selected HRUs, including the current one, check 'Extend edits to selected HRUs' and select the subbasins from the list on the right. Next, select the landuses, soils and slopes to apply the changes.
Click 'Save Edits' and close the interface.
Don't forget to click 'Save Edits' butoon on the 'mgnSWAT Edit SWAT Data' interface.
