Edit Groundwater Data

Input Data Editing

Edit Groundwater Data

What is it?

This interface allows users to modify HRU level groundwater parameters.

How to use it:

Subbasin number, land use, soil, slope and HRU number of the HRU currently being edited are displayed on the top.

Edit groundwater parameters

Groundwater parameters are listed below 'Groundwater parameters'.
Parameter description:
SHALLST: Initial depth of water in the shallow aquifer (mm).
DEEPST: Initial depth of water in the deep aquifer (mm).
GW_DELAY: Groundwater delay (days).
ALPHA_BF: Baseflow alpha factor (days).
GWQMN: Threshold depth of water in the shallow aquifer required for return flow to occur (days).
GW_REVAP: Groundwater "revap" coefficient.
REVAPMN: Threshold depth of water in the shallow aquifer for "revap" to occur (mm).
RCHRG_DP: Deep aquifer percolation fraction.
GWHT: Initial groundwater height (m).
GW_SPYLD: Specific yield of the shallow aquifer (m3/m3).
SHALLST_N: Initial concentration of nitrate in shallow aquifer (mg N/L).
GWSOLP: Concentration of soluble phosphorus in groundwater contribution to streamflow from subbasin (mg P/L).
HLIFE_NGW: Half-life of nitrate in the shallow aquifer (days).
LAT_ORGN: Organic nitrogen in the base flow (mg/L).
LAT_ORGP: Organic phosphorus in the base flow (mg/L).
ALPHA_BF_D: Baseflow alpha factor for deep aquifer (days).

Applying the changes

Under 'Extend parameter edits', check 'Extend ALL GW parameters' to apply all the current groundwater parameters. To only apply the parameters that have been updated, leave it unchecked.
To apply the changes to current HRU only, check 'Extend edits to current HRU'.
To apply the changes to all HRUs, check 'Extend edits to ALL HRUs'.
To apply the changes to selected HRUs, including the current one, check 'Extend edits to selected HRUs' and select the subbasins from the list on the right. Next, select the landuses, soils and slopes to apply the changes.

Click 'Save Edits' and close the interface.
Don't forget to click 'Save Edits' butoon on the 'mgnSWAT Edit SWAT Data' interface.
