Edit Soil Data
What is it?
This interface allows users to modify HRU level soil data. How to use it:
Subbasin number, land use, soil, slope and HRU number of the HRU currently being edited are displayed on the top.
Edit soil component parameters
Soil component parameters are listed below 'Soil component parameters'.Parameter description:
SNAM: Soil name.
NLAYERS: Number of layers in the soil (1 to 10).
HYDGRP: Soil hydrologic group.
SOL_ZMX: Maximum rooting depth of soil profile (0 to 3500) (mm).
ANION_EXCL: Fraction of porosity from which anions are excluded (0.01 to 1).
SOL_CRK: Crack volume potential of soil (0 to 1)(m3/m3).
TEXTURE: Texture of soil layer.
Soil layer parameters
To edit soil layer parameters, select a soil layer from the dropdown list under 'Soil layer'. All the available soil layers in current HRU are listed here.Parameter description:
SOL_Z: Depth from soil surface to the bottom of the layer (mm).
SOL_BD: Moist bulk density (g/cm3).
SOL_AWC: Available water capacity of the soil layer (mm/mm).
SOL_CBN: Organic carbon content (% weight).
SOL_K: Saturated hydraulic conductivity (mm/hr).
CLAY: Clay content.
SILT: Silt content (% weight).
SAND: Sand content (% weight).
ROCK: Rock fragment content (% weight).
SOL_ALB: Moist soil albedo (fraction).
USLE_K: USLE equation soil erodibility (k) factor.
SOL_EC: Electrical conductivity (dS/m).
SOL_CAL: Calcium carbonate content (%).
SOL_PH: Soil pH.
Make desired changes, and click 'Save'. Please remember to click 'Save' after each layer parameters are updated.
Applying the changes
Under 'Extend parameter edits', check 'Extend ALL SOL parameters' to apply all the current soil parameters. To only apply the parameters that have been updated, leave it unchecked. To apply the changes to current HRU only, check 'Extend edits to current HRU'.
To apply the changes to all HRUs, check 'Extend edits to ALL HRUs'.
To apply the changes to selected HRUs, including the current one, check 'Extend edits to selected HRUs' and select the subbasins from the list on the right. Next, select the landuses, soils and slopes to apply the changes.
Click 'Save Edits' and close the interface.
Don't forget to click 'Save Edits' butoon on the 'mgnSWAT Edit SWAT Data' interface.
