What is it?
After crating a potential HRU map, user can use different method to choose final HRUs. Users can select single HRU or multiple HRUs per subbasin using different selection criteria.How to use it:
Select single HRU per subbasin
There are two options for choosing single HRU per subbasin: dominant landuse, soil, slope and dominant HRU. Dominant landuse, soil, slope chooses the landuse with the biggest area in the subbasin, the soil with the biggest area in the subbasin, and the slope range with the biggest area in the subbasin and uses them for the whole subbasin. Dominant HRU selects the largest of the potential HRUs in each subbasin and makes its landuse, soil and slope range the ones chosen for the whole subbasin.
Select multiple HRU per subbasin
There are three options for creating multiple HRUs per subbasin: filter by landuse, soil, slope; filter by area; and target number of HRUs.To filter HRUs by landuse, soil, and slope, users can select landuse, soil and slope by using range control or by simply typing a value in the box.
To filter HRUs by area, users can select threshold method as percentage of subbasin or area (ha). Users can then define the area or percentage by using area range or typing a value in the box.
To filter HRUs by target number of HRUs, users can select threshold method as percentage of subbasin or area (ha). Minimum and maximum number of potential HRUs are displayed. Users can then select desired target number of HRUs by using range or by typing a value in the box.
After choosing HRU selection method, click on 'Finalize HRUs' button. After the process is complete, final number of HRUs is displayed.
