Surface Water Overland Flow Options

Workflow context
For the workflow context, see 📘 Watershed Coupling (SwaNET/SWAT)

What is it?

This interface lets the user assign a surface water modeling module to the zone being edited. This module can take into account water inputs from rainfall and snowmelt, and then calculates overland flow, evapotranspiration, and infiltration rates based on parameters associated with land use, soil type, climate, snow pack, evaporation,& root zone depth.

How to use it:

1. Check the box next to ‘Overland Flow’ to direct IGW-NET to simulate land surface hydrologic processes (runoff, recharge, evapotranspiration, etc.) for the model zone being edited. 2. Tab through the different parameter groups (land use, soil type, climate, snow pack, evaporation,& root zone depth) to set specific parameters.
For each tab, to apply parameters to the model:
 a) Check the box at the top of the parameter grouping
 b) Select the other appropriate options
 c) Edit values and add applicable data
Specific help for each set of parameters is available after clicking a tab.
